Cosplay Photoshoot: Isabelle Lightwood from 'The Mortal Instruments'

I'm back! Over the past couple of months I have been doing a great deal of traveling and have been unable to post due to fatigue. I'm happy to announce that I'm fully rested and should be posting frequently again. The first fun thing I want to share are the photos from my photoshoot for my Cosplay of Isabelle Lightwood from The Mortal Instruments! As some of you may know, I'm fairly new to the Cosplay world, but I'm already addicted and love it.

What is so special to me about this photoshoot is that it was my very first professional shoot as a Cosplayer and The Mortal Instruments are very dear to my heart. The incredibly talented Nick Stowers of Blue Light Photography worked very hard with me to make my experience and photos wonderful. He exceeded my expectations and I can't thank him and his wife Stephanie, whom referred me to Nick, enough. The photoshoot was done in Atlanta, Georgia during Dragon*Con 2013. Don't worry, I'll post about Dragon*Con soon enough. Meanwhile, enjoy the photos below and make sure to check out and like my Cosplay page on facebook at VintageVampyreCosplay.

BOOK: "Saving Raphael Santiago" (The Bane Chronicles #6) -- Available Now!

September 17th marked the release of the sixth installment of the Cassandra Clare project, 'The Bane Chronicles'.

This installment enlists the aid of the wonderfully talented and brilliant author of the 'The Lynburn Legacy' series, Sarah Rees Brennan, who also happens to be one of my favorite authors; especially after reading 'Unspoken', which is the first book of 'The Lynburn Legacy' series.

Saving Raphael Santiago tells the story of a young Raphael Santiago and how he came to be who he is. Of course, we also learn and share in his entanglement with our beloved warlock, Magnus Bane. Raphael's story is a very emotional one. One that I don't think you will forget.

I've had the pleasure of reading the novella, and I must say that I absolutely LOVED it. I definitely rank it as one of the best installments thus far.

This story is filled with humorous conversation, emotion filled moments and overall plot development that helps connect a lot of the dots made while reading the 'The Mortal Instruments' series, where we are introduced to Raphael to begin with. He is such a strong character. And excellently developed character. And overall, just VERY fun to read about.

I am pleased to say that Sarah Rees Brennan's voice is quite prominent in this tale. Having read some of her solo work, I can attest to that fact. There is a tinge of darkness and Gothic atmosphere that I haven't quite seen in the other installments, so I was very excited about that. Two of my favorite authors working together is simply euphoric!

It is always fun to learn how interconnected some of our favorite characters are through these chronicles. Cassandra Clare is such an amazing storyteller, so I can only imagine what she has in store for us next!

Saving Raphael Santiago is available now on BN.com, iTunes Store and Amazon.com for $2.99.

Have you read this installment of 'The Bane Chronicles'? What are your thoughts?

BOOK: 'The Transfer' by Veronica Roth -- Available Now!

'The Transfer', one of four short stories written by Veronica Roth, is available today in e-book.

The first installment details the life of Tobias Eaton, known as Four, prior to and after his induction into Dauntless. You learn about the boy behind the man. His family life. His experiences as a young Tobias.

I read the story last night at midnight on the dot and I can definitely tell you, it is worth the $2!

Veronica does a wonderful job of making you feel for Tobias, as the little boy he was before Dauntless. She also does a great job building your respect for him once he becomes a Dauntless initiate.

He is humanized in a way that we don't see as much in 'Divergent' and 'Insurgent' and it's a beautiful experience.

You can pick up this e-book at Amazon, Barnes & Nobles, iTunes, and other sites today for $1.99!

Have you read The Transfer? What did you think? Let me know in the comments!
